Why am I the right person for you

My passion, enthusiasm, humor and knowledge base allow me to easily work with all types of physical and occupational therapists to help solve their biggest clinical challenges.  I have over 20 years of clinical experience with the neurological population and over 15 years of experience providing continuing education courses.   I have a large variety of types of courses I provide including stroke, motor learning, geriatric and spinal cord injury.  I have worked with therapists in many different ways and am skilled in adjusting content to fit the needs of the facility.

Biography

J.J. Mowder received her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Colorado, Boulder and her Master of Science in Physical Therapy from University of Miami in Florida. She completed her doctorate in physical therapy at NOVA Southeastern University. She has over 20 years of experience in a multitude of clinical settings with the majority of experience with people with neuromuscular deficits. She is certified as a clinical specialist in Neurologic Physical Therapy by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties (ABPTS). She also has extensive training and is certified in Neuro-Developmental Treatment (NDT), has her Certified Stroke Rehabilitation Specialist (CSRS) through Neurorecovery and the American Stroke Association, as well as being a Certified Exercise Expert Aging Adults (CEEAA) from the Academy of Geriatric Physical Therapy.

J.J. is currently an Associate Professor at Nazareth College in the physical therapy department. She teaches the Neuromuscular series that incorporates the onsite pro-bono clinic. In addition, she teaches an advanced neuromuscular elective. She has served on many professional committees related specifically to neurology, spinal cord injury rehabilitation, and wound care. She has conducted nationwide seminars on the Treatment of Patients with Neurological deficits, Spinal cord injuries, Balance Challenges, Progressive interventions for Aging Adults, and Parkinsons Disease.
